Sunday was surely one for the memory book. Open Life had our largest Sunday to date with 139 people present for our Easter Experience, “One Day to Change The World.” So many guests made their way to Easter with family, neighbors, and friends. Honored to have them with us and hoping to see them again in the coming weeks.
We are just 22 days 19 hours 13 minutes and 10 seconds from the Open Life Easter Experience, “One Day to Change the World.” Here is the opportunity before each one of us, Easter is the one time a year people are most open to considering what Jesus was all about. Got an email today from someone I have never met. Shows what can happen if we live in the community we serve.
I have always been a huge proponent of living in the city you go to church in. Just a huge factor when it comes to doing life with people and your life having a chance to make an impact.
Maybe it’s meeting someone at Starbucks, the grocery store, or even the person who cuts your hair. People are watching and taking notice of your life.
Here is an email I received today:
Good afternoon and Happy Monday!
I just wanted to say thank you for being an awesome light and man of God. You’ve never met me, but my little sister cut your hair this weekend. She is not really living as a Christian and that is largely because she has been treated poorly and made to feel like crap by pastors in the past. She had great things to say about you. She said you were super nice and friendly!
Thank you for letting Christ shine through you, for loving others, and for being a great example that not all Christians are religious and legalistic. I hope that sometime we can come check out your church.
I think God has many opportunities for us and many of them look like normal every day life! Goes to show you never know how closely those you do life with are watching.
Make the most of your opportunities!
Have you ever tuned out the familiar? We do that with music, noise and preachers! I find that there are many benefits to developing and utilizing a teaching team within your church.

What an amazing journey. As we have been on the road to planting this church, Open Life. I am continually amazed and declare with all confidence that Jesus is Lord. Ezekiel 36 says increase, provision and the drawing of people to the church…it’s so that we may declare this very truth, “Jesus is Lord.”
Here we are just 7 weeks from a soft launch in the Huff Home as we move closer to the January 10th launch of a gathering at Regal Tall Firs 10 in Bonney Lake for Northwest Family Church’s church plant, Open Life.
I thought it would be powerful to dialogue every once in a while with Pastor Warren and get his take on some of the heart and vision he sensed in the first stages of this church planting adventure. Here is our first take. Simply a WebCam in the office as we had a conversation Tuesday, July 28, 2009…check it out! Give it a view!
There are so many questions when it comes to church planting and we are finding that there are so many different ways to do it. Pastor Warren Bullock (pastor of Northwest Family Church who is the sending church for this plant in Bonney Lake) and I will be periodically posting a little nugget here on my blog to communicate just where we are at in the church planting journey. We will also explain some of the confusing elements to the whole church planting process, the terms and some of the practices.
So how about we start with the term Launch. Continue reading What is a Launch?
Have you ever sat in a pew with your Starbucks (has to be) Americano and thought, “boy I wish these things had cup holders.” Well, it is looking like the Bonney Lake Church Plant will have just that. We are in process to secure the Regal Tall Firs 10 Cinema for our Sunday gatherings.
